Our cricket club originated as the Bulleen Templestowe Youth Club Cricket Club, founded in 1970 by Tom Stannard, Graham Flack and Tom Gould. The club, later renamed the Bulleen Templestowe Cricket Club (BTCC), has had a long and successful history competing in the Box Hill Reporter District Cricket Association (BHRDCA) since its inception. In that time, the Bullants have won a total of 21 senior and 20 junior premierships. Most recently, the club achieved the highest accolade in the BHRDCA association by winning the McIntosh Shield in 2008/09 and again in 2011/12.

“The Bullants” home ground and clubrooms are located at Ted Ajani Reserve, regarded by many as one of the best grounds in the BHRDCA. Added to this are recently renovated clubrooms making Bulleen Templestowe a great place to be involved.

We are a Level 3 Accredited ‘Good Sports’ Club and have recently experienced strong growth in our junior player numbers. As a part of that growth we proudly introduced TWO Junior Girls teams back in 2015/16 (competition leader in girls cricket) and have continued to encourage and grow Girls involvement in sport.

The Bulleen Templestowe Cricket Club will again field 6 senior teams (including a mid-week T20 team and a fortnightly Sunday Veterans team), led by Co Captains Ashwyn Mohandas and the returning Andrew Verga. Ashwyn has had broad experience having played for Fitzroy-Doncaster and then Templestowe CC where he assisted with running senior training sessions. He also played junior cricket at BTCC. We are keen to see Ash bring his positive energy and some new ideas into the role. Vergs doesn’t really require too much of an introduction as most of you know him from his long career spanning the 4s to the 1s at BTCC (including a stint as 1XI captain in 2016/17).

Our junior program is set to grow once again after another spike in junior numbers that hit over 130 junior players! We aim to again to field numerous Super 7s, Fast 9s, Under 12’s, 14’s, 16’s and a Girls T20 team.

BTCC places a strong emphasis on its standing within the community by aligning iitself with nearby schools as well as partnering with local businesses. Overall, Bulleen Templestowe Cricket is a fantastic social community club to play cricket for people of all ages and from all backgrounds.
